The film opens in Auckland, New Zealand, where Adithi is resigned to her fate, believing her life has been a series of derailed dreams and forced choices, culminating in a hasty arranged marriage to Aarav. She struggles with the constant compliment that she is 'so lucky,' which only irritates her.
Through a flashback, Aarav sets an unconventional boundary on their wedding night: they will be roommates in New Zealand while she lives for herself and processes her life, deferring the traditional roles until she's ready. The subsequent weeks show a genuine connection blooming, marked by charming surprises (Gnocchi) and domestic conflict (the first quarrel over waking him up).
Adithi, burdened by guilt, attempts to confess her past serious relationship with a man named Soorya. In the climactic reveal, Aarav interrupts her confession, revealing he knows everything. He confesses he has loved her since childhood, that he deliberately orchestrated the marriage after her breakup, and that he delayed the full relationship so she could heal. The film closes with Aarav's final line: 'My name is Aarav, I am the one who scripted Adithi's story'.
